Larry Cogdell's Habu EDF over Agate Field

4:39

The Habu is an Electric Ducted Fanjet from ParkZone. This one was built by Larry Cogdell and customized with 3 classy modifications: (1) a new black and red on gray paint scheme, (2) new landing gear with oil filled shocks from Vigilante RC, and (3) a light kit by RC Lander that includes red LED afterburners. Larry says his plane has been clocked at 75mph. For the trivia buffs in the crowd, Habu is a Japanese word for certain venomous Asian snakes and was an early nickname for the SR-71 Blackbird recon aircraft! Vid by Bret Pearson.

Scale T-28 trainer graces Agate Skyways

4:46

Larry is very pleased with his scale T-28 piston trainer by Airfield. This beautifully detailed bird features retractable sequenced landing gear, working engine cowl flaps and regular flaps. Larry emphasized that all of this is completely stock. He says she flies extremely well and floats in easily with those flaps. The T-28 was a popular trainer used by many branches of the armed forces. Vid by Bret Pearson.

NorthStars over Woahink Lake

4:11

This is a movie about a pack of NorthStars piloted by John Parks, Calvin Emigh and Fred Sargent. The NorthStar is a very fast delta-winged float plane that demands exceptional piloting skills, especially when more than one is in the air, as is common at these gatherings. Our extraordinary league of NorthStar air commandos in the photo are (left to right) Cliff Sands, Rick Lindsey, John Parks, Larry Myers, Calvin Emigh and Fred Sargent.
